Dr. William R. Pierce, D.C., D.A.B.C.O.

Dr.William (Bill) Pierce graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College in1983 and established his practice in Santa Maria soon thereafter. Alifelong central coast resident he was raised in Los Alamos, Californiaand attended local schools before completing his undergraduate degreeand Secondary Teaching Credential at the University of Pacific inStockton, California. A gifted athlete and musician, Bill participatedin many high school sports and music related activities and was ascholarship athlete who participated in football at the Division 1College level. Unfortunately a serious leg injury ended his dream of afuture career within the NFL.

Following graduation he returnedto Santa Maria and taught science and physical education at the highschool level as well as coached varsity football and baseball. Threeyears later Dr. Pierce (then Coach Pierce) witnessed his wife recoverfrom injuries sustained in a serious automobile accident with the helpof a college friend who had become a doctor of chiropractic. "Frankly Ihad very little understanding of what Chiropractic was or how patientswere helped using this form of care," "I was absolutely amazed at howquickly and completely she improved without the use of drugs and/orsurgery". Intrigued by Becky's miraculous response, Bill began toaggressively investigate the history, philosophy and science ofChiropractic and instinctively knew that his life would forever change.

"Iexperienced what some would refer to as an epiphany." A vision for mylifelong work was made crystal clear to me and it's as if I'd beencalled by God to participate in and become passionate about this greatprofession as a Doctor of Chiropractic.

Dr. Pierce enteredChiropractic school and spent the next four years undergoing the rigorsof professional school. Upon graduation he returned to Santa Mariastarting in private practice. Soon, "bigger goals filled my head and Iwas accepted into a Diplomat program in Orthopedics in Los Angeles." Aprocess requiring an additional 2 1/2 years of intense study,coursework and examinations. Dr. Pierce currently is the only BoardCertified Chiropractic Orthopedist practicing in the central coast area.

Heremains active and enjoys exercising daily while training forcompetitive triathlons. He golfs, surfs and continues to participate inmusic, playing 3 different instruments as a member of the local collegejazz band and his church praise band. He is a licensed and instrumentrated pilot as well as a certified advanced scuba diver. "My mostenjoyable time is when I'm with my wife of 35 years (Becky) and my son(Dr. Beau) and our three dogs (Emma, Bubba and Sophie)."

After25 years Dr. Pierce's passionate journey with Chiropractic continues.He remains adamant about providing his patients with the very best careavailable.
